Pendleton is located near Keith in the Limestone Coast region of South-East South Australia. Olive trees were first planted in the early 1880’s, and many of the original trees survive today.
Land known as the ‘Hundred of Pendleton’ was proclaimed in 1909. Soon afterwards, a Swedish sailor named Paulas Peterson settled in the area known as Leonard’s Soak due to its exceptional quality of water. He farmed Pendleton until his death in 1957.
Pendleton Estate olive groves established by the Wylie Family, near Peterson’s original homestead, consists of over 20,000 olive trees producing premier extra virgin olive oil which has been winning National and State awards since 2003.
